− It's a shame, because the host is a genuinely nice guy — but that doesn't make up for everything that went wrong during this stay. Unfortunately, this stay was full of issues from start to finish: Arrived and couldn't get check-in instructions on time. No signal in the building hallway while waiting, and phone calls went unanswered. The elevator required a coin to operate (never seen this before), and this wasn't mentioned beforehand — had to carry my backpack and suitcase up the stairs. WiFi never worked for the entire stay, despite being told it would be "fixed." The shower door doesn't close properly, so water leaks out constantly every time you shower — still happened today. No toilet paper on arrival. Got locked inside the room one morning and missed a walking tour I'd already booked in Naples. The door handle stopped working entirely the following night, even though it had supposedly been repaired. Breakfast cancelled at the last minute on my final day. The room was already paid and booked under my name starting from the 9th, with the option to arrive that day — yet it was double-booked to someone else. Being told that he was doing me a favor by accepting me on the 9th when he had reserved it for someone else even though I paid the room for the 9th as well. The furniture chairs don’t match the pictures. The host did respond and try to help when asked, but the accumulation of problems significantly affected the stay, especially since reliable wifi was needed for work. After a month traveling across Italy — Venice, Milan, Verona, Portofino, Rome, Bellagio and more — this was by far the most problematic accommodation, and the price doesn't reflect the level of service and basic maintenance issues encountered.
