Scenic and peaceful with lovely hosts

Beautiful location, the cottage was lovely with a massive spa bath and a fireplace. We watched the cows in the paddock next door in the morning. The food (made by Paul) is excellent - my favourite was the garlic prawns and sticky date pudding (and Paul makes a perfect poached egg). Paul and Craig are both so friendly and inviting, we were able to borrow a couple of DVDs from their extensive collection to watch while we cuddled up next to the fire. Craig gave lots of recommendations for the local area and we ended up hiking the Unicorn Falls track which was about 30 minutes drive away, and made for a very nice, not too difficult walk.

Paul and Craig were exceptional hosts and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Rather than feeling like guests at a B&B, it felt as though we were staying with old friends. Their warmth, genuine hospitality and attention to detail created a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere throughout our stay. The food was outstanding and a true highlight of the weekend. Paul's expertise as a chef was evident in every meal, with high-quality ingredients, beautiful presentation and flavours that rival those of fine dining restaurants. His culinary talent was perfectly complemented by Craig's engaging and attentive hosting style. Together, they make the perfect team and create an experience that is far more than simply accommodation. We also loved being welcomed into the wider Hillcrest family, including the resident dogs. Jake, their elderly pup, was a delightful companionnd quickly became one of the highlights of our stay. His gentle presence added to the warm, homely atmosphere that makes Hillcrest such a special place.

− There was nothing we didn't like. Every aspect of our stay was thoughtfully considered, and it is rare to find a place where the accommodation, food and hospitality are all of such a consistently high standard. We left feeling refreshed, spoiled and already talking about a return visit.

The cottage was such a lovely place to stay and the views were stunning. Paul and Craig were the most welcoming hosts and the breakfast was delicious. This is truly the best place for a couples getaway. I greatly recommend waking up and watching the sunrise. Will be coming back again.

I look forward to staying there again & enjoy the casual, inviting, relaxed atmosphere yet professional.

I loved how quiet it was, away from the hustle & bustle with beautiful country scenery. The food was amazing & so was the service, I wish I had more time.
