I came here as a solo English traveler in my late 40s, not something I have done in some time. I hadn’t dived for well over 10 years prior to coming. I chose it because of the calm atmosphere (no entertainment, karaoke or themed parties) and the diving company’s strong reputation. I was a little hesitant because I was not sure if I would connect with people (no big deal, plenty of books to read) and because the main language spoken is German, which I don’t really understand. It has been… amazing. Every single member of staff is so kind and positive, helpful, professional. And I really mean everyone - the reception staff, security, housekeeping, dive shop people, restaurant, even the hotel boss - they are so lovely. Yes, German is the main language spoken but they are happy to do little bursts of English, and when you’re underwater, language becomes unimportant. I was welcomed to meals with a bigger group, aged in their 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond. The food is good. Always a range of options, always cooked very well and served with kindness. You only pay extra for lunch and drinks, which are very reasonable. In case you are wondering about water, you can pay a small fixed price per day to refill a bottle as often as you like from one of the many dispensers. The rooms are nice. Unfussy, and the bed is pretty hard, but it works for me and it’s certainly not basic… probably a little better than the pictures suggest, but don’t expect five star opulence. Air con works well and the rooms are cleaned meticulously. And the diving itself? Not as cheap as some operators in this area, and the pricing system is somewhat labyrinthine, but the dive guides are exceptional and on balance, I think it’s worth the extra. Try to pre-pay for some or all of your dives and you will save a bit this way. The other divers in the group were very experienced, with hundreds, even thousands of logged dives. One wonderful diver is 70 and has been diving since 1980. So there’s no attitude underwater, no clattering into each other, just a very respectful and calm vibe. I made some great connections with some great people, and I would love to see them again. Some people have come here many times, which says a lot. In seven days, I saw lots of friendly turtles, a Napoleon, a few tuna, ornate ghost pipefish, a huge group of dolphins (snorkelling) and all the usual reef friends. Around this time, other people saw a dugong and a large tiger shark. Maybe next time for me. Thank you, Oasis, for rewarding my step into the unknown. Don’t ever change.

Beautiful setting to switch off, enjoy the stillness and snorkel on up and down the house reef.

The breakfast and dinner is buffet - style with a German touch - the owners are German. There is also a bedouin tent where one can have a tea. The snorkeling on the house reef is insane. They also offer scuba diving excursions - just check which ones are on offer while you there, so you can plan them ahead of time.

− Einige Dinge gehören renoviert, z. B die Ständer der Strandschirme und die Windbrecher, ebenso die Strohauflagen und die Matratzen der Strandliegen

Petit havre de paix loin de tout, parfait pour une semaine de repos, au calme dans un lieu idyllique

Le lieu est magnifique, les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables, un petit bonus pour la tante sur la plage et le ponton !

− Loin de tout donc obligé de tout payer sur place (déjeuner, plongée, activités….), parfois un peu cher, le transfert a l’aéroport n’est pas donné (27€ par personne)
