Hotel Moca NYC

I will NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone! It's despicable and horrible.

− I will try to keep this brief. I booked the hotel at the last minute for 2 nights because it looked inviting from the pictures on the website. When I arrived at the hotel 18 minutes later, went inside to check in, the hotel clerk was NOT friendly. Meaning he didn't greet me with a smile nor said, "Welcome to our hotel!" Inside looks nothing like the website mind you! I told him who I was and gave him my ID. I then asked him if I could see the room first. He gave me the keys to 505. I went into the hotel room and it was completely awful. First and foremost, the room was terribly small and the smell was awful. I went into the bathroom, the toilet was made for children, the shower had black mold around the bottom of it and the floor was dirty. In the next room, you could hear the couples full conversation and their TV. It was noise everywhere, outside and Inside. I went back downstairs and told the clerk I was disappointed and how do I receive a refund. He instructed me to call bookings.com and gave me the number to receive the refund. I called booking.com and explained to the operator what happened. She informed me she was calling the hotel immediately to receive my refund. She called me back and told me that she spoke with the manager and they will call her back within one hour. Booking.com sent me an email telling me that they WILL NOT refund me money because it was non-refundable. Mind you, I booked the hotel for two days and paid in advance. Even if they had given me the second day back, that would have been fine as well. They chose not to give me anything back and had the audacity to tell me, I should have asked for another room instead. No sir, the clerk should have offered me another room. Instead he gave me the number to booking.com for a refund knowing he wasn't returning my money. I pray that this NASTY hotel gets shut down or get new managers to clean the place up. I have NEVER in my life, seen such a despicable nasty place.

− I don’t like light, it wasn’t anything for sleeping in lightless
