Bang in Kolonaki by Athenian Homes

Terrible experience. Avoid this property!

The location is the only good thing about this property. I am very familiar with the neighbourhood and this is why I chose to stay at this apartment.

− I arrived at the apartment in the early hours of the morning and the next day I had to prepare for business meetings. In the morning, I realised that there was no hot water for my shower because the switch for the hot water was off. I understand that the owner wants to save money but I wasn't told in advance about this switch. I called the phone number I was given to ask about the switches. A hotel would never allow you to touch the electrical switch box and I was not comfortable with it. So, I made a call to make sure I was turning the right switch on and I was very polite to the woman who answered the phone. Her answer was "don't you have switches in Greece?" I told her that I was from London and I just wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing because there was no hot water for my shower. She replied "You will destroy my place, a........, m..........." And she hung up on me! I tried to call back three times to give her the chance to apologise but she didn't answer. She used two Greek swear words that I can't even repeat here and I have never used in my life. I'd say that only people with no education would use such terrible vocabulary. It took 40 minutes to get hot water. The irony is that I was late for a meeting with tourism and aviation experts. I have informed my tourism and aviation contacts in Greece about my experience. The Ministry for Tourism and the Greek Tourism Organisation will also be informed. I know that the so called host belongs to the minority of rude and unprofessional hospitality "professionals" in Greece. I called booking.com and the customer service representative registered an official complaint. She was very nice and understanding. She encouraged me to write an honest review. I strongly recommend that you avoid booking this property and I hope that booking.com will remove it from its lists.

La posizione era perfetta, 10 minuti a piedi da piazza Syntagma, 20 da piazza Monastiraki. In zona tanti locali per mangiare. Quartiere tranquillo. Posto macchina in parcheggio a pagamento a 2 minuti a piedi. Per la colazione abbiamo trovato fette biscottate, marmellata, 2 caffè e acqua. Prodotti da bagno disponibili.

− Cucina piccolissima, senza fornelli, solo una piastra, non adatta per cucinare un pranzo o una cena. Nel bagno sarebbe opportuno mettere un gancio per il sifone della doccia. Cuscini troppo bassi.

I enjoyed my stay overall. The location was great, and the hosts were incredibly friendly and kind, which made me feel very welcome. The space itself was cute and comfortable.

− The handheld shower wasn’t mounted and was a bit uncomfortable to use, and a duvet instead of a blanket would make it more comfortable.

Η τοποθεσία εξαιρετική και το στρώμα πολύ άνετο

− Δεν υπάρχει καθόλου ηχομόνωση. Αν δεν μπορείς να κοιμηθείς με θορύβους από τον δρόμο ή την πολυκατοικία καλύτερα να μην επιλέξεις το συγκεκριμένο κατάλυμα. Επίσης το δωμάτιο δεν έσφιζε και από καθαριότητα.
