A fabulous property that needs some TLC to make it value for money

The property is in a great location and the Swimming Pool was great although it was chilly so our family couldn’t endure it for long

− It’s a property with such great potential that is just not maximised. When we booked up, the gym was a great selling point but upon our arrival we found it locked for safety concerns. The hot tub was practically falling apart and one of the single beds upstairs was held together with silver gaffa tape. The property was generally very clean but the downstairs toilet smelt of sewage meaning the upstairs facilities were the only ones we could realistically use. The general feeling was that the house lacked attention to detail - windows looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for a long time and there were cobwebs everywhere whereas things like beds and the kitchen were generally spotless when we arrived.

Good stay but let down by a few areas and overpriced

Pool and hot tub

− The downstairs toilet smelt like a urinal, it had no windows and mold in the shower ceiling. The electrics cut out twice and the lights outside didn’t work at all. The pool area needs a good tidy up, and painting. No beds outside. The pool was cold when we arrived and we had to ask for the temp to be increased. The door from the kitchen was continually getting stuck and we couldn’t open it at times. No smart tvs in the hole house which is terrible for the price of the accommodation. Over priced and needs some work and tlc to improve quality of facilities

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but feel there could be a few amendments to make it even better.

Lots of space for the family to be comfortable. The hot tub was a huge success. The house is in close drivable proximity to lots of amenities.

− The pool was on the uncomfortable side. It was set to the regulated temperature which is fine, but it really was not comfortable to swim in, especially with young children who were shivering.

Disappointing, if it wasn't for the pool this holiday would have been bad

outside table and chairs were lovely, nice to have a pool, property very clean

− No loungers by swimming pool, swimming pool was set at 25 degrees which is way to cold and was turned up when the gentleman came to look at the hot tub; hot tub not working (we were informed by the gentleman who visited that he has said that the hottub has had issues for quite a while now and he had told them that it needed a service); TVs not being smart TV's, therefore on bad weather days there was limited things to watch; DVD player not working, nor were there any DVDs which were mentioned in the welcome book. Lack of welcome - every other place I have ever stayed in you normally get a little basket of welcome treats, outside toilet was not finished, gym was not usable and we dare not open the bi-folds in the gym as they look like they would fall off. Broken step. Doors were stiff to open and close. Wooden gate on driveway is pretty much hanging off. I will be writing an official complaint

Lovely house and patio area, nearly all we needed in house. With proper checks and maintenance and some new gym equipment would be a wonderful place. When we rang about the issues person was helpful and sent people next day.

− Pool heating hadn't been turned on, when we phoned up said it wouldn't feel like a bath, it was freezing. Persuaded them to send someone next day they tried to switch it on it blew up the switchboard. Finally had heated pool for last 3 days of 7 day stay. No lights working outside around swimming pool, one light lit up the tarpaulin and building rubbish next to hottub. Did send electrician next day but took 2 days to fix as new switches needed. Light over hottub never fixed. Gym disappointing. Exercise bike broken beyond repair, saddle dangerous, only weights, bench and kickboxing bag. The top steps to pool area are loose and accident waiting to happen. Pool men said they'd tell owner as he almost fell down stairs on it. No change during our stay, be careful! Would have been better if we had had even a follow up call and an apology for the problems which spoilt half the week. We paid for the facilities which didn't work for half the time.
