Location, friendly staff

− the lock is only padlock so bit concerned for safety. Shower and toilet is the basic Indian style where all the floor gets wet. Rooms and facility are bit rundown.

Lovely base to relax and enjoy Palolem beach

The nice wooden huts a lovely and the bed quite comfortable. The spa in the hotel is incredible, one of the best massages I’ve ever had including a steam bath after the massage to clear the pores. The best thing is the restaurant at the front of the property by the beach which is excellent. All of the staff are really welcoming and friendly.. Soveet deserves a shout out for being so kind and attentive! The food is fantastic, everything I ate was perfectly cooked and presented and tasted fresh and delicious. Ample sun beds were available during the day with or without shade up.

− The bathrooms need some attention. Everything worked fine including the water heater but there was a lot of mould over the walls and ceiling in mine.

Nothing at all .Extrenely crowded location. They gave us at first a make shift location with a sea view with no privacy at all. On being requested they gave us an equally shabby non sea view room We decided to leave immediately and we were charged one nights tariff. The room tariff was highly overrated.

Great location but with drawbacks

The location is very good, it's right on Palolem Beach. The Sea View Rooms have nice balconies and you can sit and relax there for hours without being bothered by vendors and the regular bustle. The price is for the location, so don't expect luxury, but the cottages are well equipped with comfortable beds, air con and warm water showers. Sheets and towels could do with a stain removal treatment but were freshly washed. I ate in the restaurant only once but staff there was friendly and the food good. Also, there are bars on both sides of the restaurant which regularly play live music. Since the Sea View cottages are right on top of the restaurant, it's pretty loud. I liked the music and it stopped around 11 PM every night, so it was no issue for me, but don't expect to sleep early.

− When paying with an international credit card at check in, they don't allow you to pay in Indian Rupees but only in the card's currency. This triggers an additional 5,5% charge (clearly listed on the receipt) which adds to the costs. Further, in the middle of my stay, staff suddenly requested me to move to a different cottage, without any prior notice. Apparently, my first cottage needed air con maintenance and bathroom painting - however, nothing much happened there after I left and the cottage was rented out again just a few hours later, on all nights until the end of my stay. It was all very strange and made me feel unwelcome there. I was not happy at all about having to repack all my luggage again and move in the middle of my stay, such things should not happen if it's just about regular maintenance! This considerably affected my experience at Palolem Luxuries Beach Cottages and therefore, I would choose a different accommodation next time.
