Chania was a beautiful town, with lots to do. Restaurants were amazing.

The actual room was as described. It was large and comfortable.

− Our property wasn’t in the pictures shown to us on the booking.com website. It was 50 yards away and nowhere near as nice as the one shown. The room was quite dark with no natural light if you wanted privacy. Jacuzzi wasn’t cleaned for the length of our stay, there were no robes or iPad as described, on the website. The exterior of the property wasn’t very nice, there wasn’t anywhere really to sit outside. It was also covered in graffiti. Was a real shame that the property isn’t in the setting that the pictures show.

Perfect for exploring the old town

The location was perfect for exploring the old town of Chania - everything was within walking distance. The room was comfortable and new. Would stay again.

− Our original room was located in the annex building of the hotel. It was a bit too noisy for us but the host graciously accommodated our request to move room in the nearby building.

The property is within easy, comfortable walking distance to the historic old town and the Venetian port. Our room was spacious, stylishly decorated, and offered direct ground-floor access. The self-check-in process was convenient and communication with our host was great.

− We were initially quite disappointed to find that our annex room was not in close proximity to the historic monastery building, but a vacation rental on a different street altogether, which felt misleading, especially as the historic architecture had been one of our primary reasons for booking. Upon entering the room, there was a damp, musty odor. Fortunately, this disappears once the air conditioning is running, but it left an impression. There were additional minor details, requiring only small improvements to fix, which did start adding up. The bed was initially made with just a single thin sheet, which wasn't warm enough for the evening. The only alternative provided was a heavy duvet folded in a small cupboard, we tried this on our second night but found much too hot. A standard blanket on top of the bedsheet would have been far better. The room’s single window sits right next to the jacuzzi and shower, looking out onto a small private yard with a couple of parked cars. While there is a blackout roller blind, adding sheer curtains would be an improvement, during a daytime shower without compromising privacy. There were no fixed towel rails or hooks in the room so the only option to dry towels was to set up a large, free-standing plastic clothes rack in the middle of the room, which felt clunky in such a stylish space. The few cardboard coat hangers provided felt cheap, giving off the impression of an anti-theft measure rather than a boutique hotel touch.
