My two-night stay at Boston Guest House in Bellville was extremely disappointing.

− **Unpleasant and Disappointing Two-Night Stay – 1 Star** Unfortunately, my two-night stay at Boston Guest House in Bellville was deeply disappointing. From arrival, I felt uncomfortable with the way I was received. I was welcomed at the doorway and given my initial orientation near the stairs rather than in the lobby because, I was told, other guests were eating there. I was then asked to move my requested 09:00 breakfast earlier because four other guests would supposedly be eating at that time and there was only one cook. As a paying guest myself, I found it strange that my preference had to be compromised for other guests. When I went for breakfast at 08:45 the following morning, only two guests arrived at 09:00. The room itself raised further concerns about cleanliness and basic guest amenities. There was no bottled drinking water in the room, no handwashing soap and no fresh milk at the coffee station. The kettle was dusty and contained water with a rusty colour. The powdered milk provided for coffee appeared to be spoiled and tasted so unpleasant that I could not drink it. I reported this to Simmy, who came to the room, saw the coffee and agreed that something appeared wrong with the powdered milk. She subsequently provided fresh milk. The tea presentation was equally questionable. Individual teabags of visibly different types were repackaged in transparent plastic and all labelled "Rooibos", which left me uncertain about what was actually being served.There was also no hand soap in the bathroom. When I asked whether it had simply been forgotten, I was told that the shower gel inside the shower was what was provided.

I loved the whole aesthetic of the place. It was very neat, clean, and also quiet. The staff is a huge asset to the accommodation and made us feel right at home.
