Unexpected extra charge for a third guest

− We booked the Hilton Garden Inn based in part on the information provided on the Booking.com Q&A. The Q&A specifically states: “Q: we're 3 persons and want to book the Twin Room with Balcony, I want to ask how big is the bed and will the price include adding a bed since I've already checked the price for 3 persons A: Please be informed TWIN bed size is 1m2 x 2m (2 beds). Rate for 3 persons already including extra-bed.” Based on this, we understood that the price shown for three people already included the extra bed. This was an important factor in choosing the hotel, as there are many other good options in the area. After booking, however, the hotel contacted us and requested an additional VND 850,500 for the extra bed, arguing that their policy does not include an extra bed in the rate when the third guest is a child aged 12–14. Whatever the hotel's internal policy may be, this is not what the information on Booking.com says. The Q&A refers to “3 persons” and explicitly states that the rate for three persons “already [includes an] extra-bed.” Unless, apparently, a child is not considered a person. Had the hotel clearly stated the additional charge upfront, we would have chosen another hotel. Unfortunately, by the time we were informed of the extra charge, it was too late to make alternative arrangements, leaving us little choice but to pay it. This is poor service. If a hotel advertises that the rate for three persons includes an extra bed, it should honour that price rather than pass the cost of its own unclear or incorrect information on to the customer.

The location the room was really good

− The restaurant food was not as expected and the working hours is very bad room service past call at 8:30! And the restaurant close at 9:30 this is very bad for me
