Spartan, clean, and absolutely perfectly located.
8.0This is a spartan but entirely functional and comfortable set up in an absolutely PERFECT location. My room faced the Calle del Leon, so it was definitely necessary to use white noise at night (I use the built in setting on iphone). But the window to the sunny little street was so lovely I would never have minded. Everything was clean, everything worked, everything I needed for a comfortable stay was available. All interactions with staff were pleasant and very professional. I really enjoyed my stay actually! This is just a fantastic neighborhood, and this hostal satisfied every need I had. The natural light (with metal roller shade for nighttime in the European tradition) was really lovely.
− Everything echoes in an older building like this - and hard floors amplify that. Be aware that you'll need to be ok with a lot more noise than a cushy, carpeted environment. That's not really a detraction, just something to be aware of. Light sleepers will want white noise and/or ear plugs.

− Very difficult to actually find and get into on arrivaĺ,just a piece of paper with sellotape on a big wooden door with name of the place on it.
We are extremely satisfied! If we visit Madrid again, we would definitely stay here again!
10.0The location is 100 points, not just 10! Clean, neat, well-maintained, and brand new! Ideal conditions! Absolutely everything is nearby – amazing bars and restaurants! We didn't need to use public transport for anything; everything is within walking distance!
− The reception staff don't speak English, but they really try to communicate and understand you. They are very helpful and friendly! Sometimes there is overly loud noise from other guests at unusual times of the day or night.
