Nice lake and mountains views from hotel. Check in and out are with system though the staff were very supportive and kind. Great breakfast and the place to have your breakfast is also super nice.

Nice location & rooms, but noisy, impersonal and ill prepared for the heat

Views from the balcony were absolutely stunning. Rooms were simple but clean and comfortable. Late check-in was possible.

− - No taxi service in town - No fan or air-conditioning despite known heat wave - No reception - Smokers affecting comfort day & night - Noisy Overall my stay left a poor impression, especially considering the price of the hotel. Check-in was entirely self-service and there was no reception at all - day or night. While this luckily enabled a late check-in (8.30pm), it was missing a human touch. The hotel recommended a taxi due to my late arrival which unfortunately wasn't helpful in practice. There were no taxis at the station and when asking locals for advice they all told me not to bother calling the man who runs the taxi service because he was unlikely to come. I therefore had no choice but to walk uphill for around 45 minutes carrying two months' worth of luggage. After a long journey coming from Australia with a long stopover it was frustrating to arrive to ill advice. Unfortunately, my disappointment didn't end there. The room offered neither air conditioning nor a fan. While I appreciate that not every mountain hotel has air conditioning, providing fans during extreme temperatures would seem like a reasonable expectation. A noisy small fan was provided upon request on day 2. The biggest issue with this though is the smoking. I came to Switzerland to enjoy the fresh mountain air but have mostly inhaled cigarette smoke from my hotel room which also made the balcony or trying to air out the room useless. For a hotel at this level, it's ridiculous that guests who don't smoke are expected to put up with this. It completely ruins the atmosphere and isn't what you pay for. Furthermore, when looking for a good night’s sleep the church bells and the chairs of the rooftop terrace keep you awake plenty, let alone a group camp singing in the garden as early as 7am. I was also unable to find out about the guest card to enjoy a discount on the gondola. Overall it just felt a little stressful and unwelcoming and wasn’t what I hoped for.
