The location and the feel of the hotel. The bar and lounge areas are really nice and rooms are very comfortable.

− We chose to stay here for 1 night at the August bank holiday. We’d stayed has a couple previously in January for a special birthday. We’d stayed looked forward to returning with both of our Daughters and Sin in Laws. We booked three standard rooms. Upon check in my Husband and myself arrived earlier than the rest of our party. I explained to the receptionist that the rest of the party would be checking in shortly. He proceeded with the check in but checked in one of my Daughters that hadn’t arrived yet, I explained again she wasn’t here yet and kept asking me where she was because he needed her ID to continue he did allocate their room but needed her id has soon she arrived. he said he couldn’t check me and my Husband in yet even though we were there and had ID . We were told we would have to wait for the others to arrive. After my Daughter’s arrived we could check in. We dealt with a different member of the reception team and we were met with a more amenable person. They explained that myself and my other Daughter had been upgraded to a Queen room and I assumed my other had been upgraded too, turns out she wasn’t and was 4 floors away from the rest of us. There room was adjacent to a lift shaft that was very noisy. They also spoke to reception about their coffee machine which they discovered had mold in it when they went to use. My Son in Law took a photo which he showed to a member of the reception team, they just shrugged and didn’t seem interested.

The staff were kind and attentive. The restaurant staff especially lovely and accommodating. The pool and spa facilities, were just right for us (me and my 10yr old) and only busy at weekend, lots of space at all other times. Location is very good, and good transport connections make getting round easy

− Long waits for the lift at times was frustrating, especially when getting to and from the spa in our robes, with other users in their coats and with luggage... This could be improved. The room was not hoovered or dusted daily, so did not feel freshened up when we returned from our days out.

− Shower really small but we made it work
