Una settimana a Lucca – ovvero quando una mansarda decide di mettere alla prova la tua pazienza Prima di partire per un viaggio ci si prepara a molte cose: al traffico, al caldo estivo, ai prezzi del gelato e persino agli imprevisti. Quello che non avrei mai immaginato, però, era di soggiornare in un appartamento con due porte d'ingresso, ma con il bagno accessibile soltanto da una di esse. La prenotazione era iniziata nel migliore dei modi. Avevamo comunicato che saremmo stati due adulti, una coppia. Prima del nostro arrivo il proprietario ci ha inviato puntualmente tutte le informazioni necessarie, compresi il numero di telefono, l'indirizzo e-mail e le istruzioni per il ritiro delle chiavi. Il check-in è stato semplice: la chiave era custodita in una cassetta esterna che si apriva tramite un codice. L'appartamento si trovava nella mansarda, e qui sono iniziati i primi problemi. Dal corridoio si accedeva a due porte, entrambe appartenenti al nostro appartamento. All'inizio ci è sembrata una curiosità piacevole, ma ben presto abbiamo scoperto che solo una delle due dava accesso al bagno, dove si trovavano anche la doccia e il WC. Il WC meritava quasi un capitolo a parte. Lo scarico era molto debole e spesso erano necessari diversi tentativi prima che funzionasse in modo accettabile. Anche la doccia ci ha riservato qualche sorpresa. Dopo appena due minuti l'acqua iniziava ad accumularsi fino alle caviglie perché lo scarico non riusciva a smaltirla. Inoltre, l'acqua usciva dal box doccia e finiva sul pavimento del bagno. Al nostro arrivo il climatizzatore era spento. Lo abbiamo acceso subito, ma sono state necessarie alcune ore prima di percepire un reale miglioramento della temperatura. Considerando che all'esterno facevano tra i 36 e i 38 °C, sarebbe stato molto apprezzato trovare l'appartamento già raffrescato.
