A sensible and safe choice
8.0Good value for money, helpful staff and clean amenities
− The breakfast is disappointing: only some fruits and bread and cereal. Other included breakfasts we had on our trip were full cooked meals. Although Saqray is very affordable, so it is not a big deal and is to be expected

4.0La ubicación excelente, Y el lugar bastante limpio. Pero es muy frío, cierto q fuimos en junio q es invierno en peru, pero las instalaciones eran muy frías sin calefacción ni un triste calefactor. Ni en habitaciones ni lugares comunes . El desayuno malísimo y escaso. El secador de pelo , solo había uno para todas las habitaciones y no funcionaba bien. En resumen, un lugar cutre al q no recomiendo ir.

Decently clean and quiet hostel just north of Cusco’s center
7.0Solid location just north of the main square, just a little uphill. Dorm bed had decent curtain and shelf space/small locker at the foot of the bed plus another full size locker in the room. They stored my bag for me while I was hiking Salkantay and their laundry service was convenient.
− Breakfast was basic, but that’s on par with most hostels in Peru. The dorm shower drain was clogged so you end up showering in water up to your ankles. The bathroom floor itself was flooded one morning but I notified an employee and it was handled very quickly. Every tour company I booked for day trips that had hotel pickup included told me that Saqray was unavailable for pickup which was annoying since several tours drive directly by it. It’s wasn’t a big deal to walk down to the plaza instead but just something to be aware of as far as location goes.

− A slightly longer walk compared to our other accomodation. ‘Breakfast’ is a small selection of fruit and toast. A little disappointing compared to others.
Good to know
Based on local tax laws, Peruvian citizens (and foreigners staying more than 59 days in Peru) must pay an additional fee of 18% .To be exempt from this 18% additional fee (IVA), a copy of the immigration card and passport must be presented.
Please note both documents are required for fee exemption. Guests who are not able to present both documents will be required to pay the fee.
Foreign business travelers who require a printed invoice, will also be charged the additional 18% regardless of the length of their stay in Peru. This fee is not automatically calculated in the total costs for the reservation. Payment before arrival by bank transfer is required. The property will contact you after you book to provide instructions.
