Recommend Cellar Restaurant

10.0

We spontaneously popped in here on a Wednesday and had lunch in the atmospheric Cellar restaurant . We were very happy with our choices of a beef roast dinner and a huge fish with chips, then dessert £20 pp absolutely amazing offer. They didn't scrimp on the portion sizes and the quality was *4 . Staff were young ladies, in training, professional , smart and polite. There was a wedding upstairs and outside, some guest eating. Happy and friendly atmosphere. Already recommended to a few people and will be back ourselves.

Everything, room and hotel was amazing!

Check in was a little confusing to find. But not a huge issue.

Ok unless you are disabled

8.0

Avoid if you are disabled because theres little access if you have a disability. We stayed overnight and the bedrooms are on the top floor, there is no lift, just 54 stairs and the climb is steep. On the plus side its a lovely place, built in 1510 and a lot of the historical features can be seen. The staff are all excellent, good teamwork and they are very focused on customer service. Great place for a wedding. As a listed building there are limitations such as providing a lift but a big improvement would be to build some overnight accomodation lodges in the ground for anybody who disabled.
