If you, like us, always look for authentic, comfortable, safe even a bit quirky lodging off the beaten tourist path, you could not do better than staying in the B&B El Olivar. Joseph, the host, lives in the B&B. It is his home, and he does everything possible to make it feel like your home as well. As others have said, he drives you around the neighborhood and provides excellent recommendations for restaurants, places to visit and how to get around ( sometimes offering to drive us himself to restaurants, etc). Our room was spacious with excellent wifi, comfortable bed, hot water and strong water pressure, along with the toiletries, water and cold drinks provided. Whenever we asked for something additionally, Joseph was quick to provide it ( additional towels, hair dryer, juice for breakfast, etc). Breakfasts were lovely....fresh breads, eggs, fruit and lots of good coffee! We loved walking in the San Isadora neighborhood, especially in the olive grove. A safe, quiet, beautiful setting. We had already stayed in the Miraflores neighborhood of Lima at the beginning of our holiday in Peru, and appreciated the quieter neighborhood in which this B&B is set for the end of our trip. Joseph is an exceptional host, who clearly is passionate about meeting his guests and ensuring their stay meets and exceeds all expectations. We are grateful to Joseph for all he did to make our stay unforgettable.

− Our only suggestion is to get some new towels, linens and bathmats and a quick carpet cleaning to freshen things up a bit. 😉

I chose B&B El Olivar because of its outstanding reviews, and I can honestly say they exceeded every expectation. I was traveling alone and wanted a place where I would feel safe, comfortable, and welcome. What I found was so much more than that. If I could give more than a 10, I would give a 100. Joseph is an exceptional hostkind, warm, open-hearted, and genuinely caring. On the evening I arrived, he took me for a tour around the neighborhood so I could get familiar with the area. He told me, “This way you will always know where home is.” That simple gesture immediately made me feel at ease. Throughout my stay, Joseph shared stories about Peru, its history, his family, and his own life journey. He has a special gift for making people feel welcome and cared for. Every time I returned after a day of exploring Lima, it felt like coming home. The location is perfect, the rooms are comfortable, and the atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming. But what truly makes this place special is Joseph. His kindness, generosity, and genuine interest in his guests turn a stay into an experience. I arrived as a guest and left as a friend. Thank you, Joseph, for your hospitality, your stories, your friendship, and for making my stay in Lima so memorable. I will always look back on my time at B&B El Olivar with a smile.

Wir haben hier am Anfang unserer Peru-Rundreise übernachtet. Für die lange im Voraus geplante zweite Übernachtung am Ende unserer Reise wurde uns überraschend ein Storno nahegelegt, weil der Vermieter spontan in den Urlaub gefahren ist und uns somit nicht mehr empfangen konnte. Begeistert waren wir vom Gesamtkonzept und der familiären Atmosphäre. 1. Die Lage des Hauses am Rande eines uralten, kolonialen Olivenhains ist sehr ansprechend. Die Architektur des Hauses aus den späten 1930er Jahren und die Inneneinrichtung haben Charme. 2. Tolle Begrüßung & Betreuung durch Joseph, der seine Stadt liebt. 3. Wir hatten ein großzügiges und gemütliches Zimmer mit großem Doppelbett, im Kühlschrank warten kalte Getränke und Snacks. 4. Sauberkeit: Täglicher Zimmerservice, das Bett wird gemacht, die weißen Handtücher aus peruanischer Baumwolle werden täglich gewechselt. 5. Das reichhaltige Frühstück: Es gab warme Croissants, frische Brötchen, Omelett, Marmelade, frisches, reifes Obst, Kaffee/Tee und frisch gepressten Saft aus Orange, Mango und Banane. Das beste Frühstück auf unserer dreiwöchigen Reise! 6. Am letzten Tag haben wir wegen des frühen Check-outs ein Frühstücks-Päckchen bekommen. Vielen herzlichen Dank dafür.

− Die Fenster sind wie überall in Peru einfach und nur „angelehnt“, wirklich verschließen kann man sie nicht. Ähnlich ist es mit der Zimmertüre: Es gibt im ganzen Haus keine Zimmerschlüssel! Ungewöhnlich!?!
