Spacious house, quiet and calm area, oceanview was visible from a far. The whole house was to ourselves.

− The smell of humidity and mold. The place wasn't clean. The towels would not dry after taking showers because of the high humidity in the house. All of the sheets and our clothes inside the house became somewhat damp as well of the humidity. Fridge wasn't clean. The beds we're not comfortable to sleep on. One of them was broken. The bedrooms are in basement therefore there's no good ventilation. Kitchen had ants and bugs, you couldn't leave food there. Also little worms inside whole house coming from the outside. No washing machine for the whole house. Sofa wasn't comfortable also. TV kept constantly displaying menu screen, it was bugged. Location was very remote to all main islands attractions. Patio outside door was broken, we needed to keep banging on the lock to lock it. Dishes and glasses needed to be washed again by us to use them, because they we're not clean. Basements showe head was broken. Lighting inside was too dark and not very cosy. Outside the house no lighting at all. Overall we we're really dissapointed in choosing this accomodation.

Very atmospheric and authentic

Quite a quiet place. The villa is very atmospheric, has its own character. Lots of nice little things. There are all the necessary things and space even for a large group of people. Parking space for 2 cars. It is close to the lighthouse. Wood stove!

− Not too easy to find. The villa itself is on an elevated site and the opposite is a ruin. Had to make an effort to search in the dark. The bedrooms are damp stone bags. This is fine in hot weather, but on cooler days it was chilly to sleep in such a basement There was no wood for the stove The main downside was the lack of a washer and dryer. Even if you wash things by hand, they just wouldn't dry due to the general humidity in the villa. We should have been warned about the lack of a washing machine in advance

A cold April stay

Fantastic location, in a cute mainly agricultural village, with 3 good restaurants. The walking in the region was some of the best we had made in Madeira.

− The house was cold, and due to stone walls and no roof insultation, with inadequate heaters, not possible to heat. I am sure this would not have been a problem in summer.
