Hotels.com helped me book a room at a CLOSED HOTEL

This hotel had been sold a month prior to my booking. I found this out at 9pm from ANOTHER HOTEL after showing up to a dark, snowy, locked up lobby that had 3 phone numbers listed, all of which didn't work. After calling all of the numbers then frantically googling other options, another couple showed up at the lobby also stating that they had made reservations in advance. After some confusion, we all realized we were screwed. I had to immediately figure out a solution as it was a cold winter night and most lobbies close at 10pm. I got lucky and was able to a room at a hotel across the street, where I found out about this hotel being sold. Since the hotel was sold and the business fully shut down, why did hotels.com fully charge me for 2 nights then leave me stranded?

Generally really run down, had plywood in door windows, coffee pot dirty, large air cap between bottom of front door and floor. I left and went to another motel.

The room smelled so bad. And they charged us twice( once at the front desk, the other one after several days). They didn't apologized about it.

This is one of the worst rooms I’ve ever reserved. Our first room didn’t lock, so they gave us another room. It smelled so bad and the sheets were stained we couldn’t even sleep there. Don’t waste your time. Look elsewhere.

Very dirty and run down. Lack of bedding (blankets) asked for additional and never got any. The bathroom was an absolute dump. The toilet wasn’t even bolted to the ground. The floor was gross. Lack of toilet paper. The water pressure was extremely weak, basically dribbled out. The heater was junk. For the price I expected better. I actually just changed a future stay to another hotel. I won’t stay here ever again.
