Hotel location is good, about 5 minutes walk to St. Sophia church. Room is okay, bed is a little hard.

One step from a hostel with added smoke smells.

Definitely not 3.5 stars. Check in people were not friendly, no english and took longer than average. Once you get past that then itโ€™s the strong cigarette smell everywhere, ultra dark hallways, thin walls where conversations can be heard clearly coming from the hallway, dated rooms and bad plumbing (our toilet got blocked and when we rang reception they hanged up on us 3 times as we spoke in english). Really not sure how the reviews are 8.2 avg for this place, unless they are coming up from hostel type accommodation. I really hope this helps other travellers.

The hotel is a little hard to find, although is a short walk to the train station and shops. It is about a 30 minute walk to the river. The food in the main restaurant is great, but it is not worth getting breakfast here...very little on offer. Rooms are pleasant, but the bed was reallt firm. Staff are friendly, but if it is busy (e.g. christmas eve), service isn't great, especially if you don't speak chinese. I felt ignored, and didn't get the best service during their christmas eve buffet. Although, they apologised and gave me a fruit platter.
