very pleasant resort for relaxation
9.0friendly staff--renoir and the rest of the check-in counter staff are helpful. enjoyed the on-site restaurant!! rooms are spacious and comfortable and have a kitchen(at least my room did). excursions to see stingrays, starfish, other sea-life can be arranged and leave from the dock on the property. nice grounds! an enjoyable place, pleasant and unpretentious, to unwind for a few days (or more!)
− it's a bit out of the way (i like to walk everywhere); but this setting actually made it more relaxing , and there is a lush golf course nearby and it's easy to get to 7-mile beach and west bay by transport (i even walked to those places, but in the heat this is quite unusual: almost all people would just use a rental car or taxi!)
Best value for your money in Grand Cayman!
10.0Loved the place, the staff. The room were very clean and large enough to accommodate our family. The staff were very friendly and usefull. The restaurant on site is excellent. Finally, the free shuttle was very appreciated as the hotel is located in a remote area. The whole family greatly enjoyed our week in the Grand Cayman!
Ok for one night
6.0I’m shocked this property has so many 5 star reviews on Google. It was ok for one night but I would not spend any more time than that here. - All staff we encountered were lovely - Road to hotel full of pot holes and speed bumps. Probably add 5+minutes to your drive time to navigate these - The room was not great. Clean but dated - Bathroom sinks very shallow/narrow, water splashes out easily - Rusty drains - Water leaking out from under faucet handles - Shower water smelled so bad; “bad breath” smell is the only way I can describe it - Chipping paint on bathroom cabinets - Cheap looking furniture - Rattly bathroom fan - Hallway felt like we were in an abandoned hotel - Thick patch of sargassum on the shore; stinky air as a result. I know that’s not the hotel’s fault but just saying it’s there and they don’t seem capable of clearing it - Smoke alarm went off at 11pm while we were sleeping. Pretty sure it was the whole building and not just ours. Turned off after a few beeps thank goodness. - I don’t see how a family of kids could enjoy this place for a week. The pool was nice but we can go anywhere to swim in a pool. Man made beach was shallow and not really sandy enough to enjoy.
Great place to relax
10.0Resort was what we expected. Secluded, as advertised. Pool was good. Restaurant and bar was good, never a wait. Having the snorkeling signups onsite is great, easy to book an excursion. The snorkeling crew was great. Rooms are clean. They offer shuttle to the other side where the beach is, which was convenient. Overall, great place to relax
Quiet and Relaxing
10.0If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation on the island, this is the place to go. Restaurant and bar on site is very nice with good food. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with great selections. Free shuttle to and from the local market place. Rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Washer and dryer are on site if needed.
Holiday Inn Grand Cayman Islands is the best resort in the islands for sure
