8.0This was a great stay at the Andaz as usual! I am very sad that they are closing the hotel for renovations but I can’t wait to come back to the new hotel as the location is excellent!

6.0The dining at Amate was very good in service and cuisine. Sotavento was good but not as I expected after Amate. Both restaurants had a very limited wine list of one selection of each variety - white, red, rose. The property is nice, however there were numerous times I noted beers cans, food containers, and trash about the property. They advertise hot tubs, but they are simply an area of the pool with jets. Most of the pool furniture is in need of repair. Overall as it is listed as 5 star, it is mediocre at best. There were employees who seemed to try, but at times you couldn’t find one.

4.0We stayed at this resort February 18 to 23rd. We had seen on the Hyatt website that, in early March, the hotel would be closing for a "re-branding". It felt like the hotel was mothballing around us....shutting down restaurants, starting to not have enough staff - either due to them finding other work or not needing them. I am disappointed that we weren't alerted that the resort was no longer running at "capacity"- we would have changed our reservation. The prior reviews had been really good, but they are in a different operating scenario at the moment. Unfortunate. Staff was still kind and trying their best, but running pretty ragged - everything was pretty slow. It would be good of Hyatt/Expedia to allow guests the options to make alternative arrangements for this last week or so before they shut down.
