An Unforgettable Stay at Villa Ostria – 10/10

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Villa Ostria and would rate it 10 out of 10. The family who runs the villa is truly exceptional—warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. Everything was spotlessly clean, and fresh towels were provided every day. The hospitality was outstanding. When we arrived, we were welcomed with a delicious lunch, a bottle of wine, several beers, and a full pack of water. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made us feel at home immediately. The villa is located directly by the sea, and there is also a fantastic beach nearby. The location is peaceful and beautiful, and we enjoyed every single moment of our stay. We sincerely hope that we will have the opportunity to return one day. Highly recommended!

Exceptional stay in beautiful villa

Exceptional 7 night stay!!! From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. We were greeted by Spyros and his mother who had made us a delicious meal, wine and water. We were given restaurant and local beach recommendations. And knew there was always someone about if we needed help with anything. The villa is in a perfect location just on the outskirts of Lixouri. 2 minute walk to the local beach with a great beach bar/restaurant and only 15/20 minute easy walk into the centre of Lixouri (we walked it there and back nightly with our 9 year old). Perfectly situated to visit many beautiful beaches (Petani being our favourite) We stayed on the top floor which has a spectacular view of the Sea. Huge balcony with plenty of seating and we also had the pleasure of a family of baby swallows who were nesting in the balcony, beautiful to watch daily. The villa was spotlessly clean! Well decorated with everything you could possibly need. Facilities were excellent. Our beds were made daily (which we didn't expect!) and plenty of clean towels for the room and beach/pool were left for us daily. Even our dirty clothing was washed for us! Again which we didn't expect as there is a washing machine in the property. Air conditioning in living room/kitchen and main bedroom was excellent. The 2nd bedroom the air conditioning isn't as strong, however we still slept perfectly. Huge bathroom/shower room with great shower plus the addition of a secondary toilet in one of the bedrooms was very handy. Pool area is well maintained with plenty of sunloungers and umbrellas. Highly recommend, we will definitely be return guests and will be staying longer next time!! Thank you for a wonderful first stay in Kefalonia, you were fantastic hosts 😊

Greek hospitality at its finest

I stayed on the top floor of the villa and had incredible sunrise views looking out to the sea and mountains. The space is generous, with a modern bathroom and every amenity you could need – washer, hair dryer, oven and even dressing gowns. On arrival, Spyros, the owner, was there to welcome me. I can’t thank him and his mum enough for their hospitality throughout my stay. Even treating me to delicious homemade Greek food on a few occasions! Anything you needed, you only had to ask. The villa also has access to a private beach for a dip, and the pool was perfect for cooling off or relaxing by during the day. The AC in the bedroom was great too, which made sleeping comfortable. The villa is about a 25 minute walk from Lixouri. I had a car, but enjoyed walking in for dinner in the evenings. There’s also a regular ferry from Lixouri to Argostoli, which runs hourly and is ideal for day trips. One unexpected highlight was a friendly calico cat (I named Athena) who would often appear on the balcony as company – a lovely extra touch to an already great stay.
