Great location, US style resort
8.0Location near the waterhole perfect
− Smoke in the building from the fires. Really unhealthy. I woke up by the smell of fire at 5 am. Unpleasant.
Location is Wonderful. Hotel itself is tired.
5.0The Ark is very tired. It needs a sincere makeover to get it back to its former glory and be of a standard found in many cheaper locations in Kenya these days.
− I have been to this hotel many times and usually I love it. It is however very tired. Not as clean as it should be. The staff seem to have been there forever and while this is good in some ways it brings a sense of complacency that can no longer be afforded to hotels in Kenya anymore because there is so much choice.
A Unique Wildlife Experience in a Timeless Setting
10.0A truly cozy place with an old-world charm, where time seemed to stand still. Unlike on a safari, here you can relax on a comfortable sofa and watch the animals strolling around the waterhole. Elephants came and went several times, making it easy to capture stunning close-up photos. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. On the way back to the Country Club, the driver of the Lodge even took an extra detour so that we could photograph giraffes at close range.
− The room could have offered more storage space.
A great weekend in nature in proximity to wild animals
10.0Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. A magical place to watch elephants and buffalo so close. Driving in the aberdare range is beautiful.
− Guests talk loudly on the veranda where people dot to watch the animals peacefully. There is a dign there to remind people to be respectful for other yet it is not being observed. It might be worth to include this issue when people are checking in. Guests are better having conversations and chat on the phone at the bar inside so they don't disturb those that come for a quiet time.

The Ark's is sister property of Aberdare Country Club, you are expected to arrive for lunch at Aberdare Country Club and then lodge vehicle will transfer you to The Ark for dinner and overnight.
Only bag pack are allowed, excess luggage shall be stored overnight at the reception of Aberdare Country club.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.
