10.0This was our favourite accommodation in Japan. Our room was spacious and extremely well-appointed and looked onto a delightful Japanese garden. The ryokan is in an excellent position, within walking distance of the castle, the fabulous markets and the historic Higashi-chaya district. Host Bungo-san, whose family has operated a business on the site for over 100 years, was extremely helpful and a source of valuable local information.
