The Royal Pier Hotel is tired and over priced.
3.0It is at the end of the pier only a few metres from the beach. The check-in and breakfast staff were charming. We did not use the pool so cannot comment on that.
− For the same price as the Premier Inn 30m away you get a small room on a noisy street. The TV is about A3 size. They had ‘run out’ of fans. There was no hairdryer. It was not clean. There is loud live music every night until 11pm. Breakfast is served only between 0830-0930, the menu is limited and they only serve instant coffee. The carpets and decor are decades old. The Travelodge in Ryde was less than half the price, cleaner, had the fan on prior to our arrival and was more comfortable.

9.0Although a very old seaside hotel, Very clean, all paintwork crisp and fresh. Nice helpful staff. Breakfast super efficient with table service. Not the sort of place I'd normally stay as probably aimed at older people on holiday, but no complaints from me.
