Simple and location was superb. I was lucky to be able to book n experience stay here. It was a simple room but comfortable for my family. How can I reach out to hotel for booking for Dec 2024? Unavailable to reach hotel from the same booking agent I used.

Overpriced for the quality of the facilities. Employees were attentive and friendly, but it was not enough to offset the gap between the price and quality of the room and facilities.

Good ryokan in Nozawa Onsen

10.0

good location, close to bus-stop, friendly and helpful staff, but onsen water too hot for me. I will choose this ryokan again.

Will book elsewhere next time

Well located hotel located near several onsens and close to the main street. Not too far from the moving sidewalk to the lifts (although there is an unavoidable very steep hill). We booked a room with a private bathroom. The room was clean and of a decent size. Main downssides were the significant premium we paid over other hotels, which we in retrospect have trouble believing was justified, and the very poor western breakfast options. Breakfast was comprised of mostly Japanese options (fair enough), but a bit more could be done to improve the western options e.g. scrambled eggs could be hot but were instead cold, bread consisted of very fluffy white buns (not filling at all), and only other options were runny yogurt and a bit of fruit. Not enough if you plan a morning on the slopes.

Fantastic experience

Great ryokan style rooms, clean, comfortable, perfect for the budget. Very effective drying room for ski equipment. Delicious breakfast and dinners. Location is perfect, only a 4 minute walk to the entrance of the ski resort. Service attentive. Would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable, friendly, well located ryokan in historic ski town

8.0

My son & I skied at Nozawa Olsen, using this ryokan as our base. While it's a little far from the lifts, there's a shuttle bus to take you there and the ryokan is conveniently located to the town's facilities. The ryokan itself is a little basic, rooms on the small side but it has everything needed. The staff are a major plus, as seems the case everywhere we've stayed in Japan.

Good to know
