No stay due to proprietors benhaviour.

− I arranged with proprietor to book in at 3pm.arrived then and no- one there. Rang doorbell intermittently until 3.30. no answer.Rang tel..no. several times. Told dialled incorrect number.: Could see no- one in garden. Saw an open back door so stepped in to a kitchen and called Helllo several times. No answer. Returned to car and a man came out . Told him my name and why I was there. He held out his hand and said Goodbye!! Tod me I had entered his house uninvited.! Explained situation!and he was just plain rude to me. Told him I would find somewhere else to stay and left. No signal on my phone so could not contact you. Never in all my life have I experienced such behaviour at a B and B. And for a woman on her own to be treated like that was intimidating and appalling.

This is a cycle-friendly property. We were allowed to roll our bikes right into the foyer where they were safe. Dave was salty but funny; we had grand conversations about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. 😉 The Old Rectory has great bones, and Dave upgraded our room for free and even gave us a fan during the heat wave. The bed was enormous and comfortable. Cotton linens and towels are always appreciated, as well as coffee, tea, and cookies in the room. The shining star of this stay, of course, was the breakfast. It was like being at a restaurant. A full menu, made to order. A delightful surprise for the reasonable price we paid for the stay.

Excellent location, very near Annan railway station. Welcoming host for whom nothing was too much trouble. Spacious, old fashioned room (in old house), and enjoyable breakfast

− The shower could have been better- a problem with gravity, I gather.....

Excellente première nuit en Écosse

Nous avons passé une excellente première nuit en Écosse dans ce charmant Bed & Breakfast. La chambre était très cosy, avec une literie extrêmement confortable, idéale après une journée de route. L'accueil du propriétaire a été particulièrement chaleureux et attentionné. Le petit-déjeuner était tout simplement exceptionnel, servi comme dans un restaurant, avec de délicieux produits locaux de grande qualité. Le porridge était un vrai régal ! Une très belle adresse que nous recommandons sans hésiter pour commencer un séjour en Écosse.
