10.0This is a must visit property... This property is serene and very peaceful...We were welcoming by duty manager Mr. Hamizan(if not mistaken). He is really helpful.. Kudos for the chef n his team for preparing very tasty dishes..(bfast)very friendly staff who are always ready to help...my kids was enjoying the pool.. Kids pool and private pool at our Selangor Lavilla. First time saw got indoor playground for the kids in the resort. That's something great. The view were amazing (seaside) The whole property was nice and clean. I recommend everyone to experience the beauty of lavilla Cherating resort..
We had a great time
10.0After reading the reviews on here I was worried. We went as two families with fives kids aged from 10 to 15.We all had a fantastic time. The villas were spotlessly clean and the beds were comfortable.I thought the decor in the rooms was very pleasant and although the bathrooms were dated everything worked well. The rooms were separate which was great for us but could be problematic for those with younger kids. The private plunge pool/jacuzzi was really lovely and again very clean. The main pool in Holiday Villas is brand new and absolutely fabulous. The sunbeds etc are also new and there is very relaxing. The swim up pool bar is also great and you can get a cold Tiger all day if you ask for a rather pricey 19RM. The beach was beautiful but sandflies are a problem so you need to be prepared! The only issue (which could easily be resolved) is the beach restaurant which again is a brand new building with lively views. The chef can cook(as demonstrated by some dishes at breakfast) and is a very lovely chap but there is a lack of options and is quite expensivw
Terrible lavilla..
4.01. Old not worth with what we paid! 2. Smell termites spray but still found cockroaches 3. Bed sheet smelly and house keeping not change bedsheet and blankets. 4. Mattress hard 5. Windows, wall, binder, dirty dusty and the dust looks stick permanently. 6. Carpet old and house keeping only swept the floor but nit carpet. 7. Dark inside t he rooms not enough light. 8. Kedah villa actually 2 rooms separately not one villa with 2 rooms. 9. Bfast okay not many choices and porridge terrible. Second day the porridge taste sour seems spoiled. 10. Surrounded villa messy 11. Pool okay only the sharp stone dangerous. My girls got cut and scratched at their hands and feet fingers. The only good here seaview and clean beach but not for swim.
1985 Called. It wants its hotel rooms back.
6.0My wife and I stayed here in October for an overnight staycation. For the high price paid, we expected much better. After all, the price is equivalent to a 5-star hotel in KL. The villas look quaint from the outside, but inside they are EXTREMELY dated - The decor is straight out of the early 80's, before my wife was even born ! The bathrooms are in a state of disrepair. You can't take a shower without the water backing up through the toilet and making loud glugging noises. The water took forever to drain from the sink, presumably clogged with decades of hair. Several lights in the room were not functioning and the safe box was totally broken. The only modern thing in our room - a large flat screen TV, is connected to an old-style Astro satellite box with only a few channels subscribed. Unfortunately the 'traditional' wooden sofa was as hard as a board, so uncomfortable to watch TV for long. The bed - set up as a mock four-poster - was fairly comfortable, mattress a bit too hard for my tastes; but we slept well, particularly with no outside noise. Luckily, the aircon was working very well . A kettle is provided, and there is a refrigerator in the room which (eventually) keeps drinks cold. Take note that only two small bottles of water are provided. Also provided are some sachets of no-name coffee, and tiny bottles of no-name shampoo/shower gel (it appears to be the same stuff inside each!); So make sure to bring your own. The small pool was adequate, dark, and actually resembled a fish/turtle pond rather than a plunge pool. The main pool of the hotel is a different story: It appears to have been recently modernised and is wonderful. Better still, we stayed mid-week so there were no noisy local families & kids. We had it pretty much to ourselves. Breakfast was nothing to write home about. A very limited selection compared with Holiday Villa Langkawi where we have stayed many times previously. Went for dinner in the restaurant, and our first choice for meals and drinks were 'finished already'. The satay was terrible, and the milkshakes were straight out of a bottle. I really hope that HV now spend some money to modernise these overpriced villa rooms, and improve their F&B offerings. Won't hurry back until they do.
Holiday Villa La Villa Cherating
10.0We made a trip to Cherating, my frirnds and I. We stayed at the Garden Villas facing the beach. The check in was seamless and we were in the villa in no time. With a large picture window looking out to sea, the villa was well appointed, spacious and pleasantly designed to replicate a kampung house . It came with the cascading traditional stairs found in southern kampung houses. The staff were attentive and not obstrusive. That made our stay all thr more memorable. The poolside bar and the adjacent gym with seaview were my favourites. Service was prompt and coirteous. Went back again to stay on a work trip to Kemaman a week later.
Might consider coming again
8.0It was a very relaxing holiday for my family despite us travelling in a big crowd of 3 families. Stayed in one of the chalets. PROS: 1) enjoyed what nature could offer. The plants, tress, beach was such a relaxing, de-stressing sight. 2) service - very good i would say. They would respond immediately on the request of food or beverages. Upon checking in the chalet, was given glasses of welcoming drink. 3) chalet - love the concept of "kampung" chalet. The whole structure is made of wood, which i felt was quite sturdy and didnt make much of funny noises when walked upon in the living room and hall. 4) swimming pool - as we had stayed in the chalet, there is a private pool next to to it. Water was prescient, with minimal to no insects seen. The common swimming pools on the other hand, they were fabulous. There is the kid's pool and the adult pool, which was kept very clean and my kids enjoyed tremendously playing in it. Cons: 1) being next to nature, you cannot avoid the annoying mosquitoes feeding on you. - best to have apply some mosquito repellent patch especially during the evenings. 2) food at the cafeteria however was quite a big let down in my honest opinion. Food options are not quite to my expectation. The plates and cutleries were dirty with visible stains. 3) the wooden stairs leading up to the chalet needs a major upgrade. It looks like it will give way anytime soon. We were really concerned as in our crowd, my aunty was walking with a walking stick. 4) not many options of food stalls except for a few local Malay restaurants down the road. 5) there are two rooms in a chalet. Unfortunately these rooms are separated and one needs to pass through a door to exit and another door to enter the room. Family with young children would not benefit staying in such design. Overall, i would give this place a 7/10.
