The loveliest hotel in 30 years of travel, great restaurant
10.0Simply the loveliest hotel (really more of an inn) my wife and I have stayed at in nearly 30 years of traveling in Europe. Welcoming and attentive staff, great room, shockingly affordable, perfect location for an Alhambra visit, easy access to central Granada on foot, bus, or cab. The highlight was the patio restaurant, quick and responsive service, and a kitchen that matched great flavors with beautiful, creative presentations - the 1 or.2 chefs worked magic. The fresh tomato salad was among the best I've tasted (and we ordered 2 lunches!), and the grilled artichokes were close behind.
Delightful and charming
10.0My son and I have recently come back from a delightful stay at Hotel America. Our bedrooms were very attractive as indeed was the whole building which is full of character. A most charming place in a fabulous location near the Alhambra. We were both very pleased to be staying there. We never had any meals there so cannot comment on the catering. Finally thank you to a most delightful and helpful member of staff, Tamara, who welcomed and helped us during our stay. She is certainly a real asset to the hotel.
A characterful step back in time, in the most amazing location
8.0It really is a treat to sleep within the Alhambra complex, and makes all the difference on the “big day” of your Alhambra visit. We booked the earliest Nasrid Palaces timeslot, for lowest crowd numbers, and were able to pop back to the hotel afterwards for breakfast and then, later, for lunch and a little siesta, in between visiting other parts of this magnificent site. The hotel is like stepping back in time. I suspect that it has barely changed since I glimpsed it when I first visited Alhambra more than 20 years ago, and indeed for a long time before that, but I like it all the more for that. Very much the homely feel of an old “pensión”, traditionally furnished, clean and comfortable. The owner welcomed us in both English and French and gave us good recommendations for visits/restaurants. I like also that the breakfast menu is modular, so you can eat/spend as much or as little as you like on it.

− The parking situation is difficult. You need to drive and drop off any luggage, but it is not easy to find. We recommend parking and the getting a taxi to the hotel! Also, take your parking ticket with you
