Clean but run down

− Very rundown. Lift broke down on our last day and we had to carry our bags down 5 floors. No English spoken so difficult to communicate

Bed was nice, the staff was very friendly and helpful with giving us directions as to where restaurants are and how to get to the popular tourist attractions such as the Old Street or how to get to the high speed train station. She even mentioned how much it would cost when going by taxi so we wouldn't get scammed. Optional breakfast was very cheap and you can eat as much as you need for only 10 rmb.

− As far as I know the staff only spoke chinese so it might be difficult to communicate if you don't have someone around that speaks chinese. The bathroom had a nasty urine smell the first day we stayed. Apparently someone with a child had the room before us that somehow pissed outside the pot, but the staff hadn't cleaned it yet. Roomservice did come to spray air freshener, but rinsing the floor with water and detergent (which we did ourselves) would've been more effective. The airconditioning also was blowing air with a smoke smell for some reason.

Room is adequate for the price but the overall condition of the building is substandard.

The room was clean and staff were friendly. Despite not speaking English they did their best to communicate and help us. The price was decent.

− The communal parts of the building are a bit worse for wear, the elevator is not in the best state and the stairwell is indisrepair too. In general everything looks as though it could do with some repair.
