The Best Hotel - Ever

This is without question the best hotel and location I have been to. I could leave it at that and you'd have to believe me, or you can go there yourself and find out. Everything about it is amazing. I cannot praise every member of staff enough for what they did to make our stay a forever memory. Aside from the staff.  The food, drinks, and wine were incredible.  The grounds were stunning. The amount of sunbeds available ensured access at any time. The cottages were incredible. In a nutshell it is beyond excellent. (If TripAdvisor had a level up from five this would be in it.)

You are greeted in a very friendly fashion and given a personal tour of the resort. It is not big but has everything you could need for a quiet relaxing holiday. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming and nothing is to much trouble for them. The food and drinks are excellent, you will never go hungry at this resort. The trips are very well organised and cater for most people. You can always tell how good a place is by how quickly they fix a problem and for a couple of minor issues that we had they were fixed very quickly with no fuss. A special shout out for Mikel, Angel and Wendal who went above and beyond to make us comfortable and happy. Thoroughly recommend this resort for a quiet relaxing holiday.

Boutique resort set in a tranquil coastal location

This was our 4th visit to St Lucia but our first to East Winds. We were looking for a small east coast resort and we were absolutely delighted with our selection. East Winds comprises 33 rooms/cottages set in beautifully maintained gardens. The setting is truly tranquil - this being a small resort. There are no "noisy neighbour" hotels !!! You awake to bird song - regrettably there is an enthusiastic rooster who insists on crowing in unusually early hours. This aside, the bird song dominates. We had one of the Deluxe Cottages set in gardens slightly higher at the resort. The room size was very generous - we loved the layout and the step down shower. There is a covered outside private patio area with table and seating. The rooms are maintained daily and kept very clean. One aspect of possible improvement could be the provision of full size bath towels in the bathroom. We frequently resorted to the use of beach towels. This said, the towels are changed daily. There are plenty of sun loungers with cover in the beach area either side of the restaurant and bar. The sand beach (set below the sun lounger areas) is clean, but small and narrow with no room for seating (see photos). There is also a good size pool for those less tempted by a dip in the beautiful Caribbean. East Winds has only one restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are plenty of tables and absolutely no need for an advanced reservation. What we particularly appreciated was the changing daily menu of truly quality dishes. This being a small resort the food is freshly prepared to order. The menu caters for all tastes and provides meat, fish and vegetarian choices. The fish selection during our stay was impressive with fresh local fish such a Red Snapper, Blue Marlin and Tuna being offered. Quality wines accompany your meal. No "house wines" here !!! The wine selection changes daily with 2 choices EACH of red, white or rose being offered. Daily entertainment is provided at mealtimes - lunch and dinner. Lunchtime entertainers included fabulous steel bands whilst more sedate live music was provided in the evenings. The staff are fabulous, always ready to chat and super helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much. For those interested in rum there is a tasting of quality rums weekly. Similarly there are weekly cookery demonstrations. Returning to the resort grounds, as mentioned at the beginning of this review, East Winds is set in spectacular garden. These are maintained by Silvanus and his team of gardeners. Silvanus offers tours of the gardens 3 times a week and these are an absolute "must do" for visitors. A full tour takes a good 90 mins. East Winds is a fabulous small (boutique) resort. The staff are superb and friendly, the food is fabulous and fresh and the setting is spectacular. Yes, the cost may be at the higher end but here you most definitely get what you pay for. Great rooms, tranquillity, great food (and refreshments) all supported by a truly helpful and friendly staff. Would we return? MOST CERTAINLY !!!! Thanks to all at East Winds for a fabulous stay.

This is a truly amazing place. Nestled in the tropical rainforest with its own beachfront, you barely know it is there from the sea, unlike its larger neighbour. There are only 30 rooms - we had a deluxe room which was huge, accommodating an extra single bed for our daughter. Excellent aircon and huge bathroom plus large veranda with permanently restocked minibar and feeders allowing us to while away time watching the beautiful humming birds and quits. A beautiful room. The food and drink is incredible, the best AI package we have ever experienced - including champagne, high end spirits and so much food. Dinner is 4 courses with 3-4 choices at each, including really good vegetarian options in the open restaurant right on the beach. Chef Ivana is regularly seen and is happy to adapt dishes as required. Likewise multiple decent wines available and refilled frequently and generously during dinner. Lunch is buffet style with multiple options and hugely generous. There is also a lite bites menu at lunchtime which we used often after similarly huge breakfast. We really found nothing to criticise as far as food and drink concerned. Generous, high quality and flexible - could eat in the dining room, in your own room, on the beach or in sun shaded cabanas. Time to start the diet now….. The cocktails were varied and strong! But again if you wanted something special, it was easily accommodated. The beach is sandy and small but there are more sunbeds than guests so no issues there. Non motorised watersports only thank goodness, shout out to Devon who took us out on the hobby cat. We had no trouble getting kayaks or SUPs whenever we fancied (most of the clientele in March were older than us, 95% plus of their guests are returnees, can see why!). All the staff are so friendly, learnt our names quickly and nothing was too much - a real Can Do culture which is so refreshing. Too many too mention everyone we met but Mickel who delivered many cocktails to our sunbeds, Selma and Brianna always smiling at breakfast and dinner, Robert at the beach bar and Simeon who organised lots of trips/events if you wished to partake - we went on the sunset cruise, attended the rum tasting, cocktail contest and the managers party, all great fun but no pressure to take part. Overall the best antidote to a long grey UK winter and I’m sure we will return!

A lovely restful resort.

Our second visit having liked it so much the first time. Our beach front room was excellent, the beach and snorkelling was better than I remembered. The food choices were not as large as I would have liked but the food was well prepared and presented by the restaurant ladies who were always very pleasant and quick to serve. The entertainment was nice but only one night was it possible to get up and dance, the Friday night D J and singer. Many guests got up to dance and we all had a great night. One more night like it I’m sure would have been very popular.

A Charming Well Run Boutique Resort

East Winds is a fabulous friendly small beach resort. The staff are extremely friendly and competent. The property is well maintained. The all-inclusive food is of a high quality. Rooms are spacious and well laid out. On the negative side, it is a small resort. There is no gym at present, though we hear there are plans for one. There are some activities (excellent Yoga and pilates classes with great instructors) but this is a quiet spot with a more mature vibe to it. PS there was a wedding while we there and the pavilion was made up in a really charming way. Would be a great spot to book a private wedding for 50 or 60 guests or less.
