We just wrapped up an incredible 3-night stay at Shiskine Pod in Aultgrishan, and it was nothing short of exceptional! If you are looking for a peaceful, scenic getaway in the Scottish Highlands, this is the place to book. The absolute highlight of this pod is the view. The massive double-glazed French doors open up to uninterrupted, panoramic vistas right across the water to the Isle of Skye. Watching the dramatic mid-summer sunsets right from the comfort of the bed was an unforgettable experience. The pod itself feels incredibly high-quality and luxurious. It is spotlessly clean and equipped with a fantastic full-size double bed, Egyptian cotton sheets, free Wi-Fi, and a great ensuite shower. While the indoor kitchenette doesn't have a traditional hob or oven, it has everything you need (microwave, toaster, kettle, and fridge) to get by easily. We loved the private outdoor decking and patio area, which was the perfect spot to fire up a BBQ while enjoying the coastal breeze. For an even closer look at the water, there is a path leading directly down a grassy slope to a beautiful coastal shoreline. We also took a short 15-minute drive into Gairloch to visit the massive, white-sand beaches to walk the sands at low tide. The local hosts on the working croft were welcoming, communicative, and helpful from start to finish. Just remember to pack your midge spray (Smidge worked wonders for us!) and stock up on groceries in Gairloch before heading down the scenic single-track road. We cannot recommend Shiskine Pod enough and are already dreaming of our next stay here. A true 5-star gem

Great property in a peaceful location

Great property, well equipped with a very comfortable bed and friendly hosts. We loved watching the birds competing for the food on the garden bird feeder in the morning. Lovely sea view from the living room. Hosts had very thoughtfully provided binoculars, sadly we weren't rewarded by sightings of anything apart from sheep! The long drive from the town down the single track road was a bonus in our opinion as it meant the location was truly peaceful. For eating out definitely recommend the Black Pearl Restaurant in Gairloch, but get there early and be prepared to wait for a table as they don't take bookings.

Really comfortable apartment with great views across the sea to the islands. Superb facilities, and an excellent selection of DVDs and books. A pleasant, if rather steep, walk down to the beach. Peaceful...
