Beautiful unit in excellent location - but think through layout before booking

9.0

The house is well-appointed (furnishings, amenities, etc.) and very beautiful. I appreciated the washer-dryer in the house, which came in handy as we stayed 6 nights. I did not realize that AC would be such a bonus because I never think of England as being hot, but we arrived during a heatwave so we were happy it was there. I thought the listing mentioned carbon monoxide detectors, but I did not see any -- so we had to leave the windows cracked at all times because you can't be too careful with portable AC units. This meant we heard outside noise while sleeping, including people at the nearby pub. The host allowed us to drop our luggage off upon arrival from the airport which we really appreciated. Having bedrooms on separate floors worked well for us as my husband needed to set up in one of them to use as an office while working on US time (i.e. very late UK time). The location in Holborn is outstanding, with two major underground lines just around the corner. There were grocery stores nearby, and a small one immediately outside our door. The place was spotless when we arrived. For the location and beautiful interior, this unit is excellent and we highly recommend it for most travelers (see caveat below).

The home is essentially three rooms on three floors. This works for the bedrooms, as they take the entire floor and are appropriately sized, but the top floor (kitchen/dining area/living area) did not work well for my family. It's just too small. We traveled with teen-aged boys who had to share the top floor and it was a very tight squeeze and basically impossibly to use it as a living area. There were also portable ACs on each floor, which took up even more floor space in the living room. The bathrooms are tiny - impossible to wash your face in the tiny sinks without soaking the floor, and the shower may have been the smallest shower I've seen in my life. That said, the place is well-appointed, with hardwood floors and nice furnishings that contribute to an overall lovely unit -- if you can manage in the tight spaces. I would suggest changing the beds in one of the rooms to two twins (that can be combined as a king) rather than one double to make it more user-friendly for families with children -- double beds are too small for two kids unless they are very young, which is why ours took over the entire living room. Lastly, WiFi was not great on top floor - husband could not connect his laptop and had to work in the first floor bedroom, where I believe the router is located.

Excellent place to stay and seee the city.

Centrally located in London, great location. Very clean and nicely maintained. Also, A/C units on each level made a huge difference.

No complaints.

Klare Empfehlung: Wir würden jederzeit wieder buchen

Alles was man braucht, findet man in unmittelbarer Umgebung.

The flat is large with multiple levels, nice sized bedrooms. Well-decorated and comfortable

The downstairs bedroom doesn't have it's own bathroom and the light is bright in the stairs going up to the bathroom during the night but not a big deal
