You only paid €50”... apparently, that was the excuse for everything!

The only positive aspect of our stay was the possibility of early check-in. After paying, we received the keys and were able to leave our luggage inside. This was genuinely helpful, especially with children. Unfortunately, almost everything else was disappointing.

− We booked this apartment last minute for a family weekend in Dhermi, after our usual accommodation in Dhermi had no availability. We chose it mainly because of the distance and the convenient road access. The apartment is located in an isolated area with practically no facilities nearby. The building and the surrounding area look like an open construction site. The bathroom was not properly cleaned or sanitised. After a long day of travelling and being at the beach, we had to clean and disinfect it ourselves before using it and before putting our children in the shower. The towels were partly yellowed, while the others were old and visibly worn. The kitchen dishes had dried food and burnt remains from previous guests and had to be washed and sanitised before we could use them. The sofa that was supposed to be used as a bed for the children was extremely dirty and so worn out that you could feel the hard wooden boards underneath. We covered it completely with two bedsheets in an attempt to make it usable. The other sleeping option was an old, uncomfortable mattress with bumps, placed on pieces of wooden boards. There is only one air conditioner, in the living room, meaning that during the night we had to use fans to cool the bedrooms...in 2026. At check out, I gave calm and constructive feedback. I explained that the mattress was extremely uncomfortable and that we had barely slept. I suggested adding a proper mattress topper or memory foam layer to make the sofa more comfortable for future guests. The answer was: You only paid €50. Go somewhere else. That sentence says everything about the attitude towards guests. Yes, next time I will definitely go somewhere else. But I still paid €50 for one night in which I barely slept, with my children sleeping on uncomfortable and unsuitable sleeping surfaces. And the story did not end there.
