Nice apartment.

− Good location and nicely furnished but 1/5 stars The apartment is lovely and in a good location. However, I can only rate it 1/5 stars after a Fawlty Towers-style collection of issues. We were told there was parking, but it turned out there wasn’t — we were only directed to on-street spaces out front, which were of course fully occupied. It’s a busy road, so unloading the car while double-parked on double yellow lines was stressful. I then had to drive around for half an hour to find parking about a mile away. This was exactly what I had hoped to avoid by confirming parking was available. We were given instructions about a back entrance, which turned out to be completely misleading. Someone was supposed to meet us but couldn’t be bothered, so we struggled to get through the front door. The lock was old and stiff. It was difficult to open, and we only managed it by luck. While staying, we had similar trouble locking it from the inside, and later struggled to get out. It was a very stressful moment when we thought we were locked in. The lock clearly needs maintenance. There was no information in the flat, but the host’s message said there was WiFi. Four IT professionals spent half an hour trying to get it working, but we eventually gave up. It showed green lights but simply didn’t work. When we contacted the host, they gaslit us by claiming it had been working earlier and that it must be our fault. Customer service is clearly not this person’s forte. I’d guess they’ve never actually used the WiFi themselves. The next disaster was the hot water — there was none. After wasting another half an hour trying to figure it out, we found the 1980s-style boiler controller in the kitchen with everything switched off. We eventually turned it on, but even after waiting another 30 minutes, no hot water came out of the taps or shower. We only got hot water the next morning. A shower before bed after a very hot day would have been nice.

Very spacious. Modern and clean. Fantastic view of the river. Comfortable beds.

− It would have been helpful if we could have dropped a couple of small over night bags off earlier than 4 pm when cleaners were in . There would have been lots of space to do that. As we were at a wedding from 2 to 11 at the Revenham Club just down the tow path - we had to take our bags with us and carry them from the wedding venue to the accommodation- only 15 /20 minute walk but still a bit annoying. Other than that a great property. We didn’t use any of the facilities just slept, showered and left!

Location excellent, property was very nice with great views. Clean and well proportioned.

− Parking for the property - this was tricky due to the fact that the property is located on a one way street (with two lanes of very busy traffic). We were unable to pull up outside at the allocated check in time of 4pm, so had to park, walk to the flat to get the permit while someone stayed with the car, and then carry our suitcases round to the property. We did have an elderly parent (80’s) with us and luckily she doesn’t have any mobility issues but bear this in mind if travelling with older relatives. It would have been nice if the check in time of 4pm was slightly earlier maybe 2pm or 3pm and the check out slightly later than 10am as it was a bit of a rush in the morning.
