4.0The guest house itself is extremely beautiful. The Wi-Fi works perfectly, no issues at all and very fast. The room has both an air conditioner and a fan, although the fan was quite dirty and the air conditioner smelled damp every time we turned it on. Still, it was nice to have the option depending on the weather. The location is in a quieter, less touristy area, so it feels calm and away from the chaos. The swimming pool has a very deep end, which is great.
− We felt like we had booked a hostel rather than a guest house. The communal kitchen was constantly busy, so we never really got the chance to cook when we needed to. It was often full of younger guests cooking or sitting around the table working on their laptops, leaving us without space to prepare food or even just sit down. We ended up having to eat out every day. The guest house has seven rooms, most likely accommodating two people each, but there are only six lounge chairs by the pool. Two are usually taken by the girls who stay here, so effectively there are only four available. On windy days when we wanted to relax by the pool, there were no free chairs. There’s also only one parasol, which is again always taken by the same girls. Because of this, we only spent one day by the pool and went out the rest of the time. The pool itself wasn’t very well maintained. It had a layer of green lime and dirt around the edges, along with leaves and bugs. My husband even cleaned some of it himself while we were there. It was only properly cleaned on our last day, although the green line was still there, only the leaves were removed. The duvets shown in the photos are not what we got. In reality, we only had a bed sheet to cover ourselves at night, and we were freezing on several nights. Our room was extremely small. That in itself wasn’t a big problem, but the bathroom was also very cramped. Each time we showered, the entire bathroom flooded with water and smelled damp for hours until it dried. The toilet mat reeked of damp, and we had to leave it out in the sun hoping the smell would fade. The bin stank terribly the one time I opened it to throw something away, and it clearly hadn’t been cleaned before our arrival. The water temperature also suddenly changed to cold mid-shower, possibly when someone else turned theirs on. The sink plug was broken, so we couldn’t use the sink at all as the plug was stuck closed, blocking the drain. We had to use the shower
Agréable mais manque d’intimité dans les chambres
7.0La piscine, le calme les espaces communs très agréable.
− La plupart des chambres donnent sur la rue et c’est bruyant le matin. Pas d’intimité sur les chambres du rez de chaussée
Lovely remote stay
8.0Nice facilities such as a nice big swimming pool and a terraced leading out from our room (we had the biggest room). Coffee and kettle provided in the room which is a nice extra. Large shared kitchen which was well kept and clean, the fridge is really organised and each room has their own shelf The room is charming and decorated with taste. The toilet is nicely sized with the bathtub. Perfect for people who like to chill by the pool and not do much on holiday! The staff are really nice and helpful.
− There’s nothing close by. The buses to downtown (Victoria) where all the restaurants are pass once every hour. The latest one from Victoria to the hotel is at 9:50pm, so for dinner is impossible to go downtown and come back by bus. The uber cost around 15 euros but it can take a while to find a rider sometimes. The supermarket close by (15min walk) is extremely expensive. Our room did not have wide enough curtains and everyday at 7am I was woken up by the sunlight.
Merci encore à Lily et Anna pour leur accueil et leur gentillesse, elles donnent une âme et beaucoup de convivialité à c
