− we were overrun by cockroaches, a problem the host downplayed by saying it is quite common on the island. The Wi-Fi was not working, and he asked us to climb on the roof to check the satellite dish, which was neither safe nor acceptable for guests. After days of messages with consistently late responses, he finally told us he couldn’t fix the issue but would refund part of the cost for the inconvenience. Since then, he has disappeared and never sent any refund.
