A lovely property but just a few niggles which let the stay down.
7.0Good quality furnishings, lots of space inside and out. Thank you for the bottle of Prosecco on arrival. PS5 & kids den worked very well. TV with Disney+/Netflix/iPlayer. Trampoline in back garden. Lovely location, very peaceful/rural with country lane walks from the door. A lovely ramble around Copmere, a haven for wildlife, so lots to see with the dog in tow. The Star Inn, very friendly pub, just a short drive away at Copmere too. Not far from Eccleshall, all you need day/day but recommend The Little George for a pint and a coke for the kids. We ordered pizza and curry deliveries - excellent service from both Star Pizza and The Balti Palace (easily found on Google). They found the property no problem.
− A lovely property in a fab setting but just felt a little unloved in places. The electric gate has seen better days (battered/broken and could do with a channel cut for it to run along) and front/back lawns weren’t cut, so first impressions weren’t spot on. Front door difficult to open/shut and all back windows could not be opened. Warped/painted shut?? Don’t know if that is a security concern but meant we couldn’t have a window open at night. Too hot as a consequence. Bed sheet didn’t fit/stay on the master bed so ended up pinging off & rolling up during the night. No welcome pack which another reviewer has commented on. Nothing about how to work things in the property, bins, heating, local info, walks etc. Found the kids games/art things by chance. Some nice kit, Bosch oven & m’wave, coffee machine (no idea how to work, as above), AGA (to look at), Beko dishwasher and washing machine but freezer was terribly iced up and drawer fronts broken, presumably someone has tried to force open at some point (like the gate) and plastic handled cutlery for a near £200 per night property - really? An honest review of the few niggles we had during our 3 night stay. A shame, just lacking some attention to detail which let the stay down.
