Cosy place to chill, though a tad far from amenities
10.0Cottage is wonderfully well kept and well equipped, very cosy and comfortable. Beautiful surroundings - rolling hills and fields with blooming wild flowers, sheep and deer and birds chirping sweetly in the mornings At night the dark skies are lit with stars twinkling brightly
− Narrow roads leading to the cottage, requires precision driving Location of cottage - too far away from amenities and food! Electric kettle was too rusty for use.
Peaceful, Quiet, Lovely location.
8.0Nice quiet place to stay in Dartmoor National Park. Pitch dark at night which was amazing! Cute cottage with spacious rooms and cozy wood burner.
− Ideally the Cottage could do with its own name sign as we assumed we were at the wrong place, this would have saved 45mins asking locals if they knew or had heard of the property. The corrugated metal roofing sheets on the farm barn next door which are attached to the side of the cottage could do with repair as they slam in the wind, especially at night.
Not up to expectations from advertisement.
5.0Big bath.
− Not enough towels - stayed for a week and only left 1 large, 1 medium and 1 hand. Only 1 toilet roll. Looked clean in general but found popcorn down the back of the sofa and had to clean the frying pan before able to use it. Advertised as entire property but doesn't mention attached to a second rental. Out of date food in the cupboards - tea 2023, hard cheese 2024, and sugar completely solid and had gone brown in places. Probably left by previous guests but surely should have been checked.
Relaxing, comfortable, beautiful area
9.0The location was beautiful with lots of good walks nearby. Big comfortable bed, very peaceful, nice spacious open plan, powerful shower, really enjoyed the log fire, good wi-fi would stay again
− Nothing major but we noticed no bowls for cereal or soup, no tin opener, no tea bags. Would have been nice to have had a welcoming bottle of wine or something similar.
