We were warmly greeted by Lorraine on arrival and had positive communications showing flexibility re our extra guest arriving the next day. We arrived to a spacious and beautifully decorated homely environment and Lorraine had thoughtfully lit the fire ready for us along with additional towels. I just loved the tranquil vibe of this place obviously filled with love character furniture and art. Thankyou for all the thoughtful touches and sharing Waiara Family home for our family and friends to enjoy.

A relaxing stunning setting

The house just feels so welcoming. It is huge! Everything is so clean and Warwick and Lorraine are so friendly. We were up for the Ironman and it was so quiet and a great place for him to relax for it. And it's 2km from the cycle route which meant we could spend that part of the race at the house and just go to the end of the road in time to cheer him as he passed.

− We hadn't really looked at the distance from Taupo (approx 25min drive). But the peacefulness offset that.

Plenty of room and well set up for a group of 6 to 8. Any more would be a struggle.

− While it had 3 bathrooms, there were only 2 showers. Also one of the bedrooms had no curtains only sheers making it an early rising with the sun streaming in the window. Needs better cooling in the evenings as doors had to be closed due to bugs etc. Fans struggled as cords too short to get close to seating areas. River 500m away and not accessible from property.
