Such a wonderful, lush ànd friendly hosted house, at the exact middle centre point of the island
10.0This house and this garden and these hosts..... it's just an experience in itself! Such a magnificent, neat and fine spot to 'sejour' your stay in the lower north of the wonderful and vibrant Martinique, staying at Villa Paco will bring you the peace of body, mind & soul where you might be longing for during traveling around. In fact, the house is so pleasant that you kind of forget to leave, because in a way, the whole of Martinique is situated here and in the near surrounding of the friendly village Le Gros-Morne, which is just not touristic at all but has this locally cool atmosphere, with a nice small center with a few boutiques, groceries, 2 supermarkets, bakery, pharmacies, ATM's and a great pizzeria/crêpes corner along the road. You should absolutely visit the Botanic Garden of Le Gros-Morne, it's such a birdy, flowery garden en very easy to walk several rounds. I went there at least once a day. But then in fact, as said, this is already also all-present in and around the wonderful garden of Villa Paco itself, with its beautiful diversity of trees, palm, cacao, pain de fruit, banana, papaya etc etc, plants, herbs and flowers and the omnipresent sounds of birds, frogs and many other species. In the evening when it's raining there came visiting 1-3 snails, or 'achatanes', as the friendly host Pascal taught me among many other interesting details of the local whereabouts together with his warm partner Chantal. I was very lucky to be there at this time, during the harvest of the cacao beans and helped a little hand, which is always so nice to experience. The contact with the hosts was great, as well as with the friendly neighbors.
