A peaceful and memorable hilltop escape with stunning volcano views, thoughtful hospitality, and all

9.0

We absolutely loved the breathtaking views of the Virunga volcanoes — waking up to that scenery from the hilltop cabin was unforgettable. The cabin truly felt like a home away from home, with everything thoughtfully provided for a comfortable and cozy stay. The host was very thoughtful, the caretaker on the ground was incredibly helpful and attentive, and even Zulu, the friendly dog in the compound, made the experience feel warm and welcoming. Peaceful, private, and serene, it was the perfect escape in Musanze and we would gladly stay again.

Very little to complain about, honestly. The road leading to the property can be a bit challenging, especially if you are unfamiliar with the area or during bad weather, but once you arrive, it is absolutely worth it. In fact, we learned that the host provides pick-up and drop-off assistance from the main tarmac road, which was very thoughtful... he kindly helped us back to the road upon checkout. Otherwise, the stay exceeded expectations.

Zeer mooie locatie!

A true getaway with stunning views in a secluded location. Road is pretty terrible so be prepared for that

8.0

The views are absolutely incredible. Its also very good value for money considering how expensive Musanze can be. It’s perfect for a group of friends or a family - you would have a cabin to yourself and its very cozy. There's a hammock, a place for a fire, nice outdoor seating and its really quite surreal. It’s almost a perfect getaway

The road leading to the property is almost non-existent!! Its a very bad road and feels quite unsafe. I would not recommend driving up the road. It would be better to leverage the shuttle the property offers. Also, the wifi wasn't working when we visited and the lamps in the common room/lounge weren't working. In one of pthe rooms, pallets underneath the bed were jutting out which was quite unsafe for the little kids we were with - they tripped and one of their legs got stuck in between the pallets. Would also recommend you get dinner and take your own drinks before you go up to the lodge although you can order from a nearby restaurant and it'll be delivered.
