Spacious living room, private entrance with space to sit outside. Air con available in one of the rooms.

− Unfortunately we were very misled with the price. We booked 3 nights, and thought we were getting a 3 bedroom apartment. Actually the price was for one night and one room. So we had to pay over double for 2 rooms, triple for all 3 nights, extra for air con, extra for bed sheets...we didn't opt for these but also would have paid extra for towels, extra for gas (the cooker came without it), extra for water. The 'kitchen' doesn't have a fridge, nor a functioning cooker, so we couldn't cook in it (except we boiled eggs in the kettle!). The area is unfortunately pretty rundown and very little choice of where to eat, or what to see, so we decided to move elsewhere. We decided to leave after one night and the lady kindly agreed to give some of our money back. We would definitely encourage the owners to advertise the prices correctly at the time of booking. If advertised correctly, the property is basic but feels safe and spacious, so would be good for travellers looking to stay in the local area.

We did have the use of a full house, as there was only us staying. Little shop next door was handy and short walk to main road.

− Considering that we booked way in advance, nothing was really prepared for us to arrive. We had to contact owners for towels, etc. There were no instructions on how to use anything or turn things on. Water was pouring out of a pipe at the back and we couldn't stop it, Turns out it was the overflow from the water tank, which was an unmarked switch on the bank of 8 switches as you come in the front door! We had to get our Uber driver to ring the owner to sort it!. The house needed a thorough clean. As it was very dirty, all windows and frames filthyand blacked out. You couldn't see yourself through any mirrors, and the kitchen was filthy and dark with appliances, covered over, not to use , including fridge, washing machine etc. Crockery/Cutlery unclean. and the scourer left to wash up was minging and not even fit to clean a floor!!

If you want some advice, it's: don't ruin your travel days in this place!

Kudawa beach wasn't too bad

− The worst experience in all of Sri Lanka. The lady who greeted us 40 minutes late changed the rules that were written on Booking. She locked a room and said that if we wanted to use it we would have to pay extra. Later she told us that we would also have to pay for the bath towels and sheets. The toaster, the grill, and any other appliance had to be paid for by the hour... I don't know how she can calculate that... the house was filthy and there was no basics for four people to eat! There were not enough plates or cutlery. Furthermore, it was the only place where the travel apps (Uber, Pickme) didn't work. The neighborhood was quite dirty and precarious and we were forced to enjoy the incessant sound of crows.
