What an incredible getaway location

− Beds were rock hard, way too uncomfortable, our only complaint. Addition of a sandwich press and kitchen scissors (for cutting up chicken etc) would be terrific. So many cups, plates, cutlery etc. So much room to move.

The home was very unique and was filled with so many interesting features. The location was fantastic for our needs.

− The beds were firmer than we are used to.

Would definitely recommend to even a smaller group wanting to get away!

The place was gorgeous! Great location, cute cows on the property and heaps so space.

− The house itself was very clean but we did need to clean all of the utensils in the kitchen/oven before we used them.

This property comes Highly recommended.. Mohan is a fantastic Host and very accommodating. The House is exceptional and surpassed all of our expectations. The House offers a very comfortable stay and is very well prepared. We are definitely booking this one again.

Fabulous Gallery Style Property

Beautiful property with rural outlook. Fabulously decorated with 1960s furniture. So many lovely sitting areas and artistic lighting design. Cathedral ceilings and so much natural light! Quiet spot, close to Freeway and town of Ballan. amazing communication from the host, step by step tour of the house over the phone on arrival.

− We were unsure if we were in the right place, as we were expecting something smaller and there did not appear to be a street number or sign. There had been unsuccessful attempts to break in to all doors. However the host was aware and reassured us that the place is secure. This was a very recent issue, so I'm sure will be fixed by now. Outdoor areas still a work in progress.

A peaceful retreat with wonderful retro charm

We recently stayed in this fantastic property for a family getaway, and it was truly exceptional! Initially we weren’t sure what to think when we drove in and came up to the wrap-around verandah, as it looked like it was still being finished. However once we got inside it was a truly different story. The house was spotless and massive, with huge living and relaxing spaces that made it perfect for our family. The open-plan design and spacious rooms allowed everyone to spread out comfortably—whether we were cooking in the fully equipped kitchen, lounging in the living areas, or enjoying family time together. The 1950s and 1960s aesthetic was absolutely stunning—every detail, from the retro furniture to the vintage decor, was thoughtfully chosen and added to the home's nostalgic charm, all while providing modern comforts. It was the perfect balance of style and functionality. Situated in a peaceful spot, the property provided a serene retreat and our kids (11 and 9) loved having plenty of open space to run and play. While it felt wonderfully secluded, it was also just a pleasant drive to Daylesford, making it easy to explore the area's famous spas, cafes, and natural beauty. A special mention goes to our host, Mohan, who was incredibly gracious and generous. He went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. His warm hospitality truly made us feel at home. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience, and we highly recommend this unique accommodation to any family looking for a spacious, stylish, and comfortable place to stay in Ballan. We’ve hope to be back!
