Great accommodation in a terrific village.

10.0

Terrific location Lodge managers were so helpful and cooked up a fabulous breakfast each morning. Drove us to the local supermarket for some supplies on the first day. Christo helped transport our group of 8 to different ski locations and was so accommodating to our needs. Highly recommend this place.

Had an excellent stay at Akakura Lodge. Christo was excellent, and looked after all our needs. Transfers to mountain. Activities. Quick trips to the store to keep us stocked. Amazing. Breakfast everyday was a real treat. Our group were so happy with the amenities and the accommodation overall. This accomodation is located less than 2 mins walk (literally end of the street) to Akakura onsen ski area. So convenient. We'll be back. Thanks Janna and Christo. Mitch

Spacious Snow Retreat

9.0

Great space for our group of 8. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms and space to chill. 2 min walk to the Ginrei Chairlift at Akakura Onsen and to the main drag of town. Large kitchen for cooking our dinners when we didn’t want to eat out and spacious dining room. Cosy TV room for movie nights. “The Boys” Pablo and Clemmy were very cheerful, polite, and helpful with any questions we had. They were diligent with their duties such as snow clearing in the mornings and the breakfasts they prepared for us were great: Pancake Day, French Toast day, Omelette day. The Private Onsen: at first we were hesitant of bathing in the hot mountain water given the (desired) sulphery smell. However, once we tried it, there was a Onsen queue every night. Im 6ft 2 and could almost swim in the deep onsen bath. -Manager/Owner Chris was so helpful organising our bags to be sent to Osaka for us through the ‘Black Cat’ service and also organising a shuttle for us to Nagano station to make our Bullet train on time: Thankyou!

- Tv Room gets a bit cramped with a big group, think it should be swapped/repurposed with the sitting room. - A few of the heaters in the bedrooms were a bit temperamental, having to switch to the backup Oil Column heaters which were not the best. - Whilst I see that staff are essential at the Lodge for snow clearing - and they were nice to have around - it should be stated in the Booking page that there are staff on-site.

The staffs is from Australia, they were being helpful and responsible for the snow maintenance, breakfast and trash, they ar kind and friendly. The location is convenient, close the ski station, only is hard to parking the car outside when is snow, the manager is being helpful even the website hv error i ve been communicated to fix it for 15 days...

We ar renting the whole apartment, from the beginning we ar not supposed will hv staff living there, there's not mention it when i book, and the last day, there's is a stranger man walked in our apartment is kind of made us felt weird , (said is a fd of owner 😕), we ar not supposed hv other people...for the parking, they already confirmed there's a garage for our car park before i booked but when we get there the owner's car had occupied they said have to repair, so finally we only can park one car ouside during 9 days , thankfully after i got a little refund of parking but because of the snow is still make inconvenient.. we shovel the snow everyday, thanks Australian girls has helped, and the most disappointed of the apartment is the cleaness level, every bed has hair and stains (disgusting) and the kitchen equipment is old old style, the old fridge doesn't keep cold enough we trash a lot of our food, and some food were left in the fridge by previous guests... Were expired over a year..😱.. Only good part is the bathroom can keeps clean as a Japanese level, there's has 2 clean (normal) bathroom and one onsen... But the onsen feel scary we didn't try it, for my opinion, there's still hv a lot of improve for example the laundry area, and the kitchen cleaness, hope they gonna be better in the future
