Very bad experience. us, 2 girls, arrive at 23h. Hostel is overbooked & offered inferior alternative
2.0− We arrived and they informed us there had been an overbooking, did not have space for us. suggested we stayed at a closeby, yet clearly inferior option. we refused and booked another hostel, ended up paying almost twice the price. unclear why they did not try to reach us via booking message, for example. two girls arriving at 23h and realizing they have no place to stay is far from ideal.
Quick staycation in the middle of an old city
8.0Dorm: They provide duvet which is better during winter season than the normal thick blanket. Spacious locker below the bed (bring your own key), and spacious dorm itself (I was in an 8-bed room. Love that there's a big mirror and trash can inside. Bedside has light, sockets, mini-fan, and wifi is great. Shared bathroom/restroom in the door: Average and though shower handle looks simple, it's kinda tricky (but I learned how to use it for the hot shower). They also provide a towel. Facilities: They have a rooftop and kitchen but I didn't go there as it's too cold for me. Staff & Owner: Very kind, and accommodating. The staffs always clean between 10-11:30 AM. Location: Delivery people know the location, and it is very near the bridge & lake, and other places. There's a chai/coffee shop in front of it (must tryyyyy!! For 20-50 inr). There's also a motorbike shop that provides rental and tour activities, beside it, and a laundry shop to the alley next to it (owned by a lady and per kg is 150 inr, not bad). Compared to other places, it's more quiet here and easy to sleep. Price: Affordable. The owner gives discounts esp when you keep extending. Cash payment most of the time. Thankfully, when I stayed there, the other guests I had shared a room with have good personality and respect to the other people and the place itself.
− I already mentioned these to the owner: I hope they can deep clean esp the restroom once or twice a month, as part of maintenance. They're pretty new but the place is giving an old man's house vibe.
