9.0Remote location in the mountains, calm and 100% nature. The hotel is more a guest house with rooms with and without bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped.
− The remote area requires a car. It was a bit complicated to go back to Yerevan. Be aware that there is no infrastructure around (no shops, no restaurants).

8.0The people running the lodge put in a huge amount of effort to welcome us and ensure we were set for the night. Check in was flexible, which we really appreciated as we were a bit late setting off (we were hiking). At first there was an unusual issue with the hot water, but they had it fixed within a couple of hours and then it was sweet! Would def stay again!
− The floor was very cold for your feet, so bring slippers!

Lovely place in a stunning location
10.0Gnishik is literally right at the end of the road, you can go no further, but the Eco Lodge certainly makes the journey worthwhile. The gent who let us in and gave us the keys was very pleasant and helpful and communication before arrival was excellent. It was made clear that the location was remote and that we would have to bring our food and drink with us. This was fine and the shared kitchen was very well equipped. We had a lovely en suite room upstairs with wonderful views from our balcony, especially of the beautiful rose garden in the back garden. We were also lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. There was a problem with the WiFi in the early evening, but it was quickly resolved and worked very well for us after that; not good enough to stream, but perfectly well for browsing, emails, etc. We parked in the drive in front of the Lodge, but there are zero security concerns. If you get the chance to visit, then we strongly suggest that you do. The drive south from Lake Sevan is truly spectacular. The last few kilometres of road were pot holed and slow going, but perfectly accessible if you drive slowly. Overall, this is a wonderful place to enjoy nature and relax and we loved our visit. Very highly recommended.
− Due to previous issues with a couple of other bookings, we messaged before we arrived to check that they do accept credit cards (as it says on Booking.com) and the answer was "cash only". We therefore ensured that we had enough cash to pay, but it could have been a problem if we hadn't checked. The mention of credit cards should really be removed from the online details.
