Double booked fiasco

− The fact that our accommodation was double booked before our arrival without any communication. We stood on the street outside for over an hour before the owner replied to any messages. Whether this was the responsibility of the computer system that Booking use or the owner is irrelevant - we travelled 2000km (family of 4 with a child of 4 years old and a baby of 4 months) to find that we had nowhere to stay. This had not been communicated to us beforehand. I had already paid the bill in full and so such an error is unacceptable. The owner offered us the apartment from the day after our arrival which I gratefully accepted only for the booking to be cancelled outright by the owner once our telephone conversation had ended. This is utterly unacceptable and not forgivable, even if you do send a WhatsApp message saying "sorry". I would think long and hard before booking these facilities.
