10.0When you step in the door at the Longhorn Lodge you realize you’ve found the perfect home away from home. The decor is fabulous and the amenities perfection! Marc has taken the extra steps to assure that you will want for nothing during your stay, down to the lil extras for the kiddos and fur babies. The great room has a huge TV and many DVD options. There are tons of games and activities for the kiddos…tinker toys, legos, potato heads and games galore. And me thinks Marc might be a wee bit of a Toy Story fan, because Woody, Buzz, Bo Peep and Pig are hanging around to put a smile on your face while you brush your teeth and enjoy your stay. The kitchen is equipped with pretty much everything you could possibly need, including coffee pods, creamer, sugar, spices, cooking oil and popcorn. We typically bring our ground coffee with us, and were thankful to see there was a very nice drip coffee maker along side the pod coffee maker. Plenty of dishes, cups, even wine glasses, both plastic and glass. And our 11 and 5 year old squealed when they spotted the tray adorned with the makings for s’mores! The attention to detail was spot on! The bathrooms have plenty of fluffy towels and face clothes, and you can leave your shampoo, conditioner and soap at home because Marc has provided for you during your stay. There is also a hair dryer with a diffuser if you should need one. The beds are soft and comfortable, with quality linens. Our 11 year old had a wonderful time sleeping in the “crows nest” up top away from everyone! There is also a nice twin sized air mattress for an afternoon cat nap, if needed. The outdoor area is so tranquil and peaceful and once again Marc has your comfort in mind. The fire pit area is peaceful and comfortable, there is a gas grill just steps from the kitchen for outdoor cooking. There are outdoor games and a long lead so your four legged kid can frolic around but not stray too far. And let’s not forget the hot tub…so relaxing!
